About us
Re-imagining motherhood and work...
One community at a time
Are you juggling it all, but feeling like you're doing it alone?
As working mothers, we often navigate our careers and the beautiful chaos of motherhood in isolation, feeling the heavy weight of responsibilities across our work and home lives. While online groups offer a connection, we can find ourselves losing the power of in-person community.

The question is, do we have to struggle alone?
The answer is absolutely not – but we have to connect differently.

Our Solution: The workHers Village
workHers is a dedicated social connection community for working mothers who want to move from surviving to thriving. We build local "villages" that combine professional development with purposeful connection, helping women flourish as mothers and strive in their careers during the critical early years of parenthood.

Founded on Science and Lived Experience
This isn't just another mothers' group; it's a movement backed by science.

workHers was founded by Afrouz Shoghi, an Organisational Psychologist and mum to two daughters. Inspired by her own PhD research investigating "the real lives of working mothers," she created workHers to put her findings into practice. Our approach builds on the principles of positive psychology, focusing on creating tangible resources and authentic connections that enable families to have enriching work and home lives.

What We Do
We bring together local experts, services, and the latest evidence-based science to facilitate:
-
Powerful Professional Development Series to build our capacity as leaders in our fields.
-
Purposeful Social Networking Events that create genuine connections, not just contacts.
-
A Community of Support to share the wins, navigate the challenges, and find your village.
Our mission is clear - to stay connected and build villages, one community at a time.
